As Head of Product, Andy oversees the building of tools to make it easier for organizations to measure and improve the financial health of their employees, customers, and communities. Andy benefited from financial health initiatives as a child and a college student and wants to pay it forward.
Previously, Andy led the science organization at Even: a powerhouse team of data scientists and user researchers measuring and improving the financial health of Even members. He also started the research and consumer insights function at Varo, where he transformed the team from 15 people with an aspiration to build a modern, digital bank to 150 people with a happy user base and preliminary approval for a national bank charter.
Andy holds a PhD in science and technology policy from the Georgia Institute of Technology, and a BA in the anthropology of science and technology from Rice University.
Andy lives in Berkeley with his husband, Raj, and two beautiful bicycles and volunteers with the San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus as a singer, storyteller, and researcher.
